Despite the fact that we live in an increasingly digital environment, print media remains an essential marketing mix component. Investing in print media can help companies reach out to new consumers, gain visibility, and connect with their target audiences through promotions.

Print media offers a diverse range of advertising options. Newspapers, magazines, direct mail, posters, and catalogs all fall under this group. These platforms allow you to present your brand, product, or message to an audience in a way that no other medium can.

Print Is Not A Dying Media

It’s no secret that many historical newspapers have moved to the internet. However, these are changes and not the end.

Every day, print evolves and discovers new ways to improve quality. On the other hand, print is still alive and well and can contribute valuable elements to the right media mix. With a single picture, newspapers and magazines can elicit powerful emotion and brand durability, just like a piece of art.

But, now that the internet and social media have filled the gap, how can newspapers or magazines continue to provide value when their traditional position is disrupted by technology?

To make it even more difficult, the pandemic of 2020 put financial strain on virtually every industry, including publishing. Ross Levinsohn, CEO of Maven and Sports Illustrated, says, however, that improvements in customer behavior aren’t anything to be concerned about. This a new challenge that the magazine industry can face and pass through.

In addition, let’s us know who Ross Levinsohn is and how he became one of the best leaders in the media and technology industry.

About Ross Levinsohn

Ross Levinsohn has been intrigued by the intersection of publishing and technology for a long time. Levinsohn entered Alta Vista in 1999 when it was one of the world’s largest early internet firms. They put him in charge of launching a portal. After Alta Vista changed its strategy and chose to concentrate on searches rather than a portal, Levinsohn left. Levinsohn was able to get his first CEO job at Fox Interactive Media as a result of this.

In 2006, he and his partner split up. He worked as an entrepreneur for a few years and enjoyed practicing growing a company. One of these practices was co-founding 5to1, a digital advertising agency. James Heckman was one of his co-founders. Yahoo! acquired 5to1 and named Ross Levinsohn as CEO of its Americas division. In 2012, Levinsohn also served as Yahoo’s temporary CEO for a short time.

He helped pioneer firms to have a modern, simplified method of meeting readers’ needs digitally as the driving force behind Maven, and as the interim CEO of Yahoo in the past, he helped boost the organization’s productivity and effectiveness.

Since August of 2020, Levinsohn has served as Maven CEO and continues to excel in his position as Sports Illustrated CEO. His mission is to push the limits of what is possible in the field of magazine publishing by providing cutting-edge content that meets the needs and satisfaction of readers.

About Maven

Aside from The Street and Sports Illustrated, Maven Media is the parent company of over 275 brands. History, Bio, and MTO News are some of the company’s top brands. Maven Media collaborates with journalists and publishers to provide a forum for them to share their stories.

A combined monthly audience of 150 million people watches The Street and Sports Illustrated. Maven Media, based in Seattle, sells stock under the symbol MVEN.

Maven will receive new leadership and a new round of funding as a result of this new evolution, allowing the organization to accelerate the implementation of its strategic initiatives. With this new leadership, Ross Levinsohn was appointed to be the CEO.

Because of the slow growth of the media industry when the pandemic happened, Ross Levinsohn is not stopping to move forward and take new steps for the betterment of the company.

Conclusion

Print media like magazines will keep on evolving even in these difficult times. With a competent leader like Ross Levinsohn, there is no doubt that he can make Maven successful for a long time. Levinsohn is indispensable. In today’s world, getting the right leadership is important. Levinsohn will be able to finish the job at Maven and develop business strategies that will help the company improve its position in the media industry.
